Impressed by India's 'independent foreign policy', Putin praises Modi

 


Vladimir Putin salutes President Narendra Modi.  Putin called Modi a 'true patriot'.  The Russian President also praised India's independent foreign policy and 'Make in India' vision under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.  Putin made these comments while giving a speech at the annual Valdai talks in Moscow.

Talking about India-Russia relations, Putin said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of those leaders in the world who has been able to pursue an independent foreign policy in the interests of his own country and people... There have been attempts to stop him in this movement."  But he is moving toward his goal. Putin also said I think India will become a great country in the future.  Not only that, their role in world politics is going to increase gradually.

Putin said, 'We have no unresolved issues with India.  We have always supported each other.  It's still happening.  And I am hopeful that it will continue in the future. Meanwhile, talking about the economic relations between the two countries, Putin said, "Prime Minister Modi has asked me to increase the supply of fertilizers."  It is very important for Indian agriculture.  In this environment, we increased the supply of fertilizers by 7.6 times. In Putin's words, the way India became an independent country from the British colony attracts everyone's attention and should be respected.  India has come a long way in the last few years under the leadership of Modi.  His Neck in India project is significant.'
