Why Indian Healthcare needs an Immediate digital transformation ?

Doctors bhagwan ki tarah hote h! Bhagwan to har jagah h fir Doctors kyun nahi? In India, for every 1457 people there is only one doctor. The crumbling healthcare system of India  makes it really challenging for doctors to help every patient in need. The situation has become even more worse with the emergence of the covid -19 pandemic . In this 21st century , where almost every other person owns a smartphone , we can really put that to good use and hope to fix this problem by integrating technology in the healthcare system .

  • What's the story ?

World second largest populated country with approximately 1.3 Billion population is now facing a 21 day lockdown announced by Hon. PM Narendra Modi to fight against pandemic covid-19. Amid this lockdown while Indian economy is facing fresh challenges everyday Indian healthcare is the one who is leading the warhead. With increasing number of daily cases doctors are already extending their work hours and optimizing it to serve the critical ones first but this making it difficult for regular patients to access doctors availability. As the govt stresses on social distancing with each passing day , patients visiting hospitals with bare minimum problems , is just a mockery on the face of it .  This clearly shows the inefficiency present in the healthcare system. If only we had a platform where the patients could reach out to doctors for advice , this situation could have been handled more promptly . With a solution like this doctors can treat minor ailments more swiftly and pay actual attention to emergency cases . This reduces the doctor's stress as well as the constant complaints of people on the lack of medical help . In the long run , it will help in building a healthy doctor-patient relationship .  With digital solutions emerging in the market which actually make it possible for doctors to treat patients remotely, are yet to be adopted by a large scale of doctors and Govt.

  • What's next ?

With the increasing number of infected patients,  it is going to be a great challenge in the upcoming days for govt. to maintain a balance in the healthcare although several actions have been already taken by the central and state governments. It is now interesting to see how long it takes for India to realize its need for Digital transformation in healthcare which is inevitable.
